When you get to know me you will see that I love quoting people that are far more eloquent than I will ever be, so let’s start now:
“The only way to do great work is to do what you love” – Steve Jobs.
Well, I love outdoor education and the power that it has for people to learn about; themselves, others and the natural world. And, I count myself fortunate to have built a career surrounded by inspiring people doing what I love each and every day. I’ve been a Trainer for a few years now and it is a real privilege to be there as others start their journey as outdoor education professionals too.
I look forward to meeting you soon,
I’m coming to the outdoor Learning Academy from the green lands of Ireland. My formal training in the outdoors has been primarily UK-based, reinforced by working in outdoor education in South Africa, Uganda, Thailand, Vietnam, Borneo and New Zealand, before rocking up on the sunny shores of Australia! Needless to say I love travel, and integrating ideas from all over the world, to find the teaching style that suits you the best.
I’ve seen the outdoors impact people from all walks of life – from the hardened corporate engineer suddenly bonding with his co-worker, to the 7 year old kid who sees a forest as Jurassic Park. That’s the reason I do this job, and I cant wait to share some of that knowledge with you,
