The Outdoor Education Group is one of the largest facilitators of outdoor learning in Australia and we have an excellent reputation for both quality and innovation.  As the Head of Outdoor Curriculum, you will lead activities to review our programs for schools, innovate and create Real World Ready content to meet the needs of students, schools and parents.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Business Development, you will take responsibility for the performance, growth and reputation of The Outdoor Education Group, working collaboratively with your peers and colleagues to set direction and manage activities to achieve client educational outcomes. You will ensure that all content, language and curriculum developed, meets the client’s needs and delivers Real World Ready students across our Expedition, Journey and Camps based programs linked to individual client curriculum areas and wellbeing programs.

You will be an advocate and take responsibility for developing technology in the field that links to schools and parents.

To be successful in the position you will have:

  • Significant experience working in curriculum development at a senior level within a school or similar educational institution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in identifying new and emerging developments in schools.
  • Highly effective people leader skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively within cross departmental functionalities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to work with diverse stakeholders, achieve set outcomes, and support effective feedback and reporting

  • Tertiary qualifications in education or similar field would be advantageous.

National Head of Educational Delivery

As the Head of Educational Delivery, reporting directly to the Executive Director of Outdoor Learning, you will assume leadership and accountability of the development and implementation of educational content across all program types. As a National Head, you will also lead and manage a team of staff.

Your key responsibilities, to develop and enable curriculum outcomes to be operationalised into achievable programs throughout the organisation. You will enable a process of continuous improvement of program design, planning and delivery, collaborating closely with your peers to ensure the educational outcome requirements of the clients are being delivered. You will provide leadership and management support to your team.

To be successful in the position you will have (as a minimum):

  • Proven abilities in ensuring that educational outcomes are integrated through all aspects of the programs offered by the organisation.
  • Experience in working in a changing and evolving work environment and the ability to apply relevant change management principles to ensure ongoing success of your team and the organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, communicate and deliver outdoor learning programs and identify, consider and apply continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Significant experience in a similar role supported by formal qualifications in outdoor learning, education or a related discipline.

A great new opportunity for a passionate leader to develop and oversee operational delivery of our “hard top” centres to support the growth and strategic direction of The Outdoor Education Group. As a National Head, reporting directly to the Executive Director of Outdoor Learning, you will take responsibility for the performance, growth and delivery of our Camp programs. You will create a standardized process for program delivery and oversee facility management and future development including proposals for capital expenditure.

You will be responsible for managing a team of camp managers across various locations in NSW and Victoria, to ensure effective delivery of programs and support them in their performance and personal development.

Program Manager- Victoria

As a Program Manager you will develop and facilitate programs that aid The Outdoor Education Group to realise the potential to make outdoor learning accessible to more young people.

This is a leadership role which has responsibility for the coordination of an excellent Outdoor Education program, including the educational, operational, and logistical aspects of the program. Liaising with School Coordinators, our Client Relationship Managers, your field delivery team and our Risk& Quality Assurance Team; you ensure clear communication and attention to detail throughout the planning, delivery and program follow up. Program Managers also manage a small team of Program Coordinators and provide training, coaching and mentoring in regards to field delivery and professional development.

Catering Packer

  • Permanent Part-time Position
  • Eildon Based

 The Outdoor Education Group creates thousands of meals each week for our students.  Each one is designed by our Catering Department to develop a lifelong passion for healthy eating.

We need an energetic, task focused person to assist with packing in the Catering Shed on a permanent part-time basis – 4 days per week Tuesday to Thursday 8am to 4pm. Friday 10am to 6pm

Weekend work and Public holidays may be required.

Duties include food preparation, packing, stock returns, and some cleaning.  Working within the Catering and Operations Team, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Food handling certificate
  • Working with Children Check
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Will be punctual, reliable and physically fit

Cook – Camp Jungai

The Outdoor Education Group is one of the largest providers of outdoor learning in Australia with a reputation for quality and innovation.  As a cook, you will support programs that aid The Outdoor Education Group to realise the potential to make outdoor learning accessible to more young people.

In order to ensure success of the department it is critical that you are a strong team player, taking responsibility for your day to day activities and duties to produce a high-quality product ensuring the continuing high level of customer satisfaction. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge & understanding of food handling procedures and ensure that they meet statutory and camp regulations in line with WH&S guidelines.

To be successful in the role, you will have or be able to demonstrate the following (as a minimum):

  • Qualifications and/or relevant experience in a similar environment
  • Ability to take on the day to day running of the kitchen as required without supervision.
  • Ensure that dietary and allergy processes are strictly adhered to at all times.
  • Strong communication skills with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external
  • Ability to work under pressure and be flexible in your work approach.
  • Availability to work a flexible roster. Some weekend work is inherent to the role as is the expectation to work across other static sites.
  • Strong attention to detail.

The role will be based at The Outdoor Education Group’s Camp Jungai in the Rubicon Valley, however you may also be required to work at the other static sites.

    • Manage the needs of the group and program in relation to wellbeing, safety briefings and risk management systems.
    • Identify and manage hazards on a continual basis.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of activity specific incident trends
    • Utilise a range of facilitation practices to maintain an educational focus and create a positive learning environment.
    • Apply teaching practices such as lesson planning, identifying learning preferences & utilizing teaching resources to support learning.
  • Certificate IV, Diploma or Degree in Outdoor Education/Recreation or equivalent with recognised competency in at least two of the following: Bushwalking, Cycling, or Canoeing.
  • Two years’ experience in outdoor education or related field desirable, with recognised competency and/or logged experience in one or more of the following activities: abseiling, climbing, high ropes, rafting, sea kayaking and ski touring.
  • First Aid skill equivalent to Wilderness First Aid (50 hour+) course, current CPR (annual renewal), current National Police Check, Working with Children Check (VIC or NSW) manual driver’s licence OR a commitment to achieve this before commencing employment.
