PROGRAM COORDINATOR – VIC

The Program Coordinator role is a key leadership position in our Outdoor learning Department. As a Program Coordinator with The Outdoor Education Group you have an opportunity to directly impact our programs, our staff, and our students.

You work consistently with a smaller team of staff as their Team Leader, to develop their skills further in delivering quality outdoor education programs. You have the decision making skills and experience to prepare and plan for a program, and then execute it on the ground, to ensure that our programs meet a standard we can be truly proud of. You have exposure to up to 200 students in a week, and make decisions to ensure our outlines, gear and locations are providing our students with access to experiential education. This diverse role holds responsibilities of all aspects of program planning and delivery.

We seek a passionate and experienced educator, with a genuine belief in the power of Experiential Learning along with:

  • High Level of organisational and logistical planning skills
  • Self-directed and driven
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Proven experience in managing teams and the ability to support staff to maximise their performance and guide professional development opportunities
  • Interest in Coaching, Mentoring and Training field staff
  • Experience in program coordination administratively and in the field
  • Skills equivalent to Diploma level in two or more of the following areas; Bushwalking, Canoeing, Sea Kayaking, High Ropes, Rafting, Ski Touring or Cycling
  • Strong understanding of Hard-top Camp and/ or Journey based programming.

Bike Maintenance Mechanic

  • Part-time (.4) work based in Eildon, VIC

This hands-on role is a unique opportunity for an avid rider to further their maintenance skills, working independently and as part of a team. The Bike Maintenance Mechanic is pivotal in ensuring that our fleet of bikes are ready for program as required.

Responsibilities include managing the inventory, ensuring industrial compliance and OH&S as part of the daily team culture, and completing bike orders for programs effectively. This seasonal role means that your work is rostered in our busy periods, including spikes in workflow and volume through our peak periods of the year.

Your practical skills and experience in delivering quality bicycle maintenance is required, along with:

  • A passion for outdoor education and the benefit it brings to the building of social capital in young Australians.
  • The ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks to ensure timely completion of work.
  • A keen eye for detail, with strong organisation and housekeeping skills
  • Availability to work a flexible roster; some weekend work may be required in the role.
  • You are an effective team player, willing to roll up your sleeves to support your team.
  • You understand being customer focused and have a track record of customer satisfaction.
