Rafting Trip Leader – Specialist Support Roles 

Are you interested in working as a Trip Leader? In a variety of venues? At camps? On expeditions? On Journeys?

The Outdoor Education Group are seeking experienced staff to work on journey programs between 5-15 days in length, as an Activity Specialist – Rafting Trip Leader.

Casual or salaried pay packages available.

NSW Cook, Camp Wombaroo

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our residential activity Camp Wombaroo for a cook to join our catering team. We are renowned for the high quality and are looking to maintain these standards.

Experience in bulk cooking, with varied dietary requirements needing to be followed. The applicant needs to be able to work on their own, with preparing meals and kitchen cleanup, but also needs to lead a team, with direction and foresight.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the supply of nutritious, appropriate, and cost-effective food all cooked from fresh produce for our programs. Our Catering Department is dedicated to encouraging healthy eating habits in our students. You will be highly organised, enthusiastic and display a great ‘can do’ attitude. Previous cooking / catering supervisory experience will be highly regarded.

Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation Partnership with Western Institute of TAFE (Lithgow)

The Outdoor Education Group (OEG) has over 30 years’ experience delivering quality outdoor education and leadership programs that are nationally and internationally renowned. We operate school & community programs across Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and the ACT, with expeditions also taking place in the Northern Territory, Tasmania and Queensland. Programs run from one-day to four-week journeys, including dedicated Duke of Edinburgh Adventurous Journey programs, and typically involve activities such as bushwalking, canoeing, cycling, overnight camping & group initiatives.

OEG has a strong partnership with Western Institute TAFE (Lithgow campus) ensuring students can balance both work and study life. The partnership between OEG & Lithgow TAFE provides opportunities for those with a Certificate III to increase their nationally recognized qualifications while working regularly in the industry. The Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation with Lithgow Campus is a professionally delivered course that provides employment pathways into outdoor education, adventure guiding and tourism, adventure activity instruction, corporate outdoor training and outdoor adventure therapies. Partnership Facts
• The aim of this partnership is to balance workplace experience with vocational training at a Certificate IV level.
• You will be enrolled & study Cert IV Outdoor Recreation at Lithgow Campus.
• You may be employed casually with OEG working during peak weeks in our organisational calendar.
• You will be subject to a three month probation period with OEG.

Essential Criteria
• You must possess a Certificate III in Outdoor Recreation from an Australian TAFE or tertiary institution.
• You must have or be willing to obtain Leaders Advanced Wilderness First Aid Certificate (70 hours/7 days)
