Casual Housekeeping Assistant

 The Outdoor Education Group is one of the largest providers of outdoor learning in Australia with a reputation for quality and innovation. As a Housekeeping Assistant in the Client Relationship Department you will support programs that aid The Outdoor Education Group to realise the potential to make outdoor learning accessible to more young people.

Our Housekeeping Assistants work as part of the camp team to deliver high quality service to our clients at all times. This role will be based at Camp Marysville in Marysville, VIC. We are seeking housekeeping staff who can support our busy changeover days throughout the year. We generally require staff for 2-3 days per week depending upon the time of year with minimal weekend work.

We seek the following skills and attributes in our Housekeeping Team:

  • Relevant housekeeping experience would be useful
  • Awareness of sound OH&S practises
  • Ability to follow the directions of the Office Coordinator to maintain service standards and to work independently when required
  • Customer focused and with excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks to ensure sound decision making for completion of work within set timeframes
  • A proven ability to communicate effectively within the housekeeping team
  • Available to work a flexible roster; there will be an expectation to work some weekends as part of the role

Administration Assistant

The Outdoor Education Group is one of the largest providers of outdoor learning in Australia with a reputation for quality and innovation. As an Administration Assistant in the Finance and Resources Department, you will support programs that aid The Outdoor Education Group to realise the potential to make outdoor learning accessible to more young people.

Our Administration Assistant is a key “first point of contact” for our NSW base, working to ensure excellence in customer service. This role provides general administrative support for all Human Resource queries, is a first point of contact working across reception services, acts within policy compliance with financial procedures, and collaborates to increase efficiency with relevant administrative systems.

We seek the following skills and attributes in our Administration Assistant:

  • A passion for Outdoor Education and the benefit it brings to young Australians
  • You have qualifications or Bookkeeping experience and a developed understanding of accounting practices and regulations.
  • Proven experience in a financial support role in a medium sized organization.
  • You have the ability to understand financial systems and processes, to inform your decision making.
  • Demonstrated experience in administration of Human Resource Management/Reception systems, processes and policies across a multi-site organisation.
  • A positive proactive approach to work.
  • An experienced and effective team player with strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent time management with ability to prioritise workflow.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel and databases, demonstrated ability to enter and manipulate data and generate reports.
  • An ability to operate professionally when dealing with sensitive personnel issues.

Casual Catering Assistant

As a Catering Assistant in the Client Relationship Department you will support programs that aid The Outdoor Education Group to realise the potential to make outdoor learning accessible to more young people.

Our Catering Assistants work as part of the camp team to deliver high quality food service to our clients at all times. This role will be based at Camp Jungai in Rubicon, VIC or Camp Marysville in Marysville, VIC depending on your suitability. We are seeking casual members of staff who can support the team during our many busy weeks of the year; typically during the school terms. During this period we require casual staff to work between 2-5 days per week and some weekends.

We seek the following skills and attributes in our Catering Team:

  • Previous catering experience or a passion to learn
  • Experience and/or qualifications in Food Safety and awareness of sound OH&S practises
  • Ability to follow instruction and work independently when required
  • Customer focused and with excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of attention
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks to ensure sound decision making for completion of work within set timeframes
  • A proven ability to communicate effectively within the catering team
  • Available to work a flexible roster; working weekends is inherent in the role as is the expectation that some work may be at our other static venues
