Behind the Scenes

The Outdoor Education Group is the largest provider of journey-based outdoor education in Australia. Over the last 27 years we have delivered over 2 million student days in the outdoors. We have around 140 permanent staff in NSW and Victoria. No other outdoor education provider offers such extensive support, educational focus and innovative program design based on the accumulated knowledge and experience.

The Outdoor Education Group is able to select from the best venues across Victoria, NSW and Tasmania to tailor a program that best suits the educational needs of your students, ranging from short centre-based programs to multi-day remote expeditions. Journey-based programs operate in public land (National Parks and State Forest) and typically involve activities such as bushwalking, canoeing, rafting, surfing, snow sports, low and high rope elements, rogaining, climbing and abseiling. We also run school camps in the Southern Highlands of NSW at Biloela Bush Camp and Camp Wombaroo, and in Victoria at Camp Marysville, Camp Eildon and Wanggai Bush Camp and Camp Jungai, a specialist centre for indigenous education.

All The Outdoor Education Group programs are underpinned by the core values and learning goals of respect and responsibility for Self, Others and the Natural World.

“It is in the outdoors, during Outdoor Education Programs, where I have seen the greatest growth in individual students and where I have seen the greatest learning occur”.
~Simon Gipson, Head of the School, St Michael’s Grammar School
